Numerous studies consistently reveal that America’s high school and college students do not know basic facts about the history of communism in the 20th century. In this environment, it is no wonder that personalities and symbols of communism are worn on clothing and even celebrated as signifying equality and justice. In an effort to remedy this sad reality, the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation in 2013 released an all new high school curriculum resource—Communism: Its Ideology, Its History, Its Legacy—intended for public, private, and home schools across the country.
The curriculum was written by Dr. Paul Kengor and Dr. Lee Edwards. Claire McCaffery Griffin served as editor and academic adviser.

Bringing history to life in the classroom is one of the most effective way to impact students. Interested in having a scholar or witness of communism speak to your students? VOC would be happy to arrange a lecture at your middle or high school.
